Practice area: immigration Law
The firm's immigration practice is headed by Nicolette Glazer, a Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.
We have built our reputation winning cases others deemed lost or hopeless; we excel at handling complex cases with a convoluted procedural history or novel legal and factual issues.
We handle appeals before the Administrative Appeals Office of the USCIS, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and in federal courts. In any appellate case time is of the essence: you have a specified period of time in which to perfect your appeal, and these jurisdictional time limits are typically not subject to extension. Before filing an appeal your entire case should be analyzed by an experienced attorney to determine whether a motion for new trial, a motion to reopen, or a motion to reconsider is advisable in order to present new arguments or to supplement the record.
Appellate work demands forceful advocacy and creative argumentation. Our principals, and only our principals, work together to prepare each appellate case.
For those who seek our services before inadequate representation or poor decisions jeopardize your legal standing we welcome the opportunity to handle your case properly at its inception.
A non-exhaustive list of our services includes:
-
non-immigrant and immigrant visas
-
employment and family based green cards
-
deportation and removal defense
-
bond and parole hearings
-
asylum, withholding of removal, and protection under the Convention Against Torture
-
complex cancellation of removal cases
-
administrative appeals
-
petitions for review before the Circuit Courts of Appeals
-
I-9 compliance
Writs of mandamus and habeas corpus actions
We investigate and litigate the willful failure of government agencies to discharge their statutory duties to adjudicate applications for immigration benefits within a reasonable time and in accordance with the law.

We encourage you to contact us if faced with any of the following situations:

-
your application for adjustment of status or naturalization has not been adjudicated for an extended period of time
-
your naturalization application has stalled because of allegations of marriage fraud
-
you have been improperly denied a work permit
-
you or a family member has been detained by ICE in violation of law
Criminal matters
We represent immigrants charged with state and federal crimes. While we have handled select criminal cases in-house, we typically consult with your criminal attorney to analyze the immigration consequences of your case and recommend strategies to negotiate a safe immigration plea. An outstanding plea deal for a citizen may be disastrous for an immigrant: in our experience, the best criminal attorneys welcome the participation of an immigration specialist to safeguard their client's interests.
If you have already sustained a conviction and are now facing adverse immigration consequences we can analyze your case to determine if post-conviction relief could negate charges of deportability or inadmissibility and revive your prospects of relief from removal.
